Dr. Waltrip joined the Seminary faculty in 2013 as Assistant Professor of Global Mission and Church Development. Previous teaching experience occurred at Patten University, Lee University and the European Theological Seminary.
Dr. Waltrip has served as a missionary since 1999, serving several years in Europe, especially in France and Germany. He served several years as a global missionary educator and currently serves as Dean of International Education for Church of God World Missions and the Division of Education. In that role, he teaches for several schools around the world and is on faculty at the European Theological Seminary in Germany, the Asian Seminary of Christian Ministry in the Philippines, and Berea Theological University College in Zambia. In addition, Dr. Waltrip works with regional and national leaders to develop and advance education and ministerial development around the world, and he coordinates the certification of international schools for the denomination.
Publications include “Hospitality as Mission Praxis in Contemporary Western Culture,” “The Global Missionary: The Emerging Roles of North American Missionaries in the Twenty-First Century” in the Great Commission Research Journal, “Historical Highlights of Church Planting” in the book Planting Healthy Churches and “Fresh Expressions of Missional Church in French-Speaking Europe” in the book The Gospel after Christendom.
Dr. Waltrip is a member of the Society for Pentecostal Studies and the European Pentecostal Theological Association. He is married to Dr. Angela McCain Waltrip, and they have one daughter, Angelina Noelle.
